Don't you wish there was an easier way that took less time and was still as effective? Better yet, an easier way that was more effective? There is. It's called H.I.I.T. (High Intensity Interval Training) cardio. The good news is it will cut your hour long sessions in half, with each H.I.I.T. session preferably lasting about twenty minutes plus a five minute warmup and five minute cooldown of course. So how does it work? Here's the key: instead of running at a moderate intensity for a long period of time, you will alternate between moderate and difficult intensities for twenty minutes. I personally recommend that people start out alternating twenty seconds all out cardio with forty seconds moderate cardio for twenty minutes. However, more advanced athletes could do thirty seconds all out and thirty seconds moderate for a more intense exercise session. The goal with this type of training is two-fold: changing up the intensities keeps your body from adjusting to what you are doing and trying to preserve energy (calories) and it also keeps your heart rate up causing your body to burn more total calories which means it in turn burns more fat. Implementing H.I.I.T. cardio into your regimen will save you time that could be used doing things you enjoy and it will burn fat more efficiently than moderate cardio. For those looking to shed fat quick and effectively it's a win-win situation.

Until Later,
Priest

Welcome To Priest's Fitness Blog

Welcome to my health and fitness blog. My name is Steven Priest and I have made it my personal goal to help as many people as I can find success with their health and fitness goals. I first got serious about my health many years ago as a football player in high school. As I grew older my hobby became more serious and all the while the world around me seemed to become less and less healthy. That is the reason I am starting this blog. With all of the fad diets, expensive programs, and products promising quick success it is hard to know which things are actually beneficial and which are nothing more than a waste of your time and money. I want to give people the information, support, and tools they need to reach and even exceed their goals. Fitness is something I am very passionate about. I am a certified personal trainer and have a bachelor's degree in exercise science and have also used myself as a personal guinea pig for numerous products and programs. I know what works and what doesn't. I welcome all comments and encourage people to contact me through e-mail concerning things they would like future posts about. I can be reached through the blog or at thencpriest@gmail.com. I will do my best to respond to all e-mails either through the blog or personally and look forward to hearing from you.

Until Later,
Priest
